To tired to exercise?

“I want to exercise but I don’t have the energy” Have you felt this way too?? I’m here to tell you you are not alone, I hear this exact statement from busy working women over 35 ALL the time.

I’m going to tell you a secret about why you feel like you don’t have the energy to exercise *HINT* It’s not because you have no motivation! I was talking with my client Felicia and she was so frustrated with herself. She was telling me all about how she would make plans to go to the gym or try a new fitness class but never had the energy to actually go.

She was constantly making excuses not to show up “I can’t figure out why I can’t get motivated and I’m gaining weight. I bought new sneakers, signed up for the gym, even paid for classes in advance. I’m just sooo tired after work, all I want to do is come home eat dinner and chill out on the couch”

When we started working together I assessed the details of what Felicia was eating and the timing of her meals. I quickly discovered that it wasn’t that she wasn’t motivated…The problem was her metabolism was slow and sluggish and was barely burning enough to get her through the work-dayNevermind a grueling 45min workout at the gym…I told her to think of her metabolism like a fire, when you have a campfire if you don’t keep adding logs, the fire burns slower and eventually goes out.

Your metabolism works in the same way, you have to keep adding energy-boosting foods to keep it burning or it slows down…This changed everything for Felicia, in just 4 weeks of working together she went from exhausted by 5pm to having enough energy to get through her workday without feeling fatigued.

She started packing her sneakers and workout clothes and was able to hit the 5:00 pm Zumba class on her way home from work. It wasn’t that Felicia was not motivated to exercise. The secret to having enough energy to work out consistently was that she needed to use hormone energy economics to rev up her metabolism.
